Dr. Tonya Armstrong.

 

Seminar: Overcoming Fear/Anxiety and Depression

Dr. Tonya D. Farmer Armstrong is the founder and CEO of The Armstrong Center for Hope (www.armstrongcfh.com), a private group practice of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals cultivating psychological and spiritual wellness for all ages.

 

After graduating from Yale University as a psychology and music double major, she earned master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus on child, adolescent, and family issues.  Dr. Armstrong additionally obtained a master’s degree in Theological Studies (magna cum laude) from Duke Divinity School. 

 

Dr. Armstrong has served since 2000 as the Minister of Congregational Care and Counseling at Union Baptist Church (www.myubc.org). Moreover, she serves as the Dean of Counseling Studies at Apex School of Theology (www.apexsot.edu).   A gospel music lover, “Dr. T” Tonya Armstrong released her debut gospel album, Choose Hope, available on iTunes.  Married for 23 years, she and her husband cherish raising a daughter and son.
