LILADA GEE
Founder & Director of Lilada's Livingroom
Lilada Gee loves being a catalyst for healing in the city of Madison, Wisconsin, and is passionate about helping women and girls tell the stories that need to be told of pain, survival and healing.
After she publically shared her tumultuous journey of healing from childhood sexual abuse, girls and women who were in the audience started showing up at her home, in her living room to find a safe place to heal. Since that time, Lilada has traveled from coast-to-coast and abroad, creating safe places for women and girls to rid themselves of the shame, secrets and stigmatism of abuse.
Lilada's Livingroom creates a safe place for female survivors of sexual abuse to step from behind the veil of shadows, secrets and shame; opening a healing pathway to renewal, recovery and restoration, not only for ourselves, but for those that follow behind us. We specialize in providing Afro-centric services to Black girl and women survivors and teen mothers, as well as providing culturally diverse services to women of color advocates and survivors. Lilada Gee's experiences speaks to emotional issues including clinical depression, post-traumatic stress and low self-esteem.
